Kelloe Year 3

Welcome to Year 3

Our Curriculum

This term in Year 3 is an exciting and busy one. In English we are basing our reading and writing around our class novel ‘Pugs of the Frozen North’ by Philip Reeve. In Maths we will be developing our understanding of fractions. In Science our biology topic is ‘Plants’, where the children will work scientifically to conduct experiments and answer their own enquiry questions. In Geography we will be using maps, atlases, globes and digital mapping to identify and locate the world’s countries, focusing on Europe. Our DT topic is food technology, our prospective young chefs will be looking at what a healthy, balanced diet is then designing and creating a sandwich for a purpose. Music we will be developing our singing skills, including singing in rounds and parts. We will use a range of instruments to compose our own music. In PE, we will be taking part in Forest School sessions, tying in with our ‘outdoor, adventurous activity’ PE curriculum. Finally, in computing this half term we aim to develop our computer science programming skills using Probots to design, write and debug programmes.

You can view our Curriculum Overview and Subjects or check out what we have been learning about on our Facebook page.
